When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Today we will be looking at one passage from the Bible and complete the S.O.A.P to encourage everyone with it.
Scripture: Psalm 56:3-4, 8, 12-13
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. 4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? 8 You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? 12 I must perform my vows to you, O God; I will render thank offerings to you. 13 For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
Observation: David put his trust in the Lord in it all and believed that God hears every cry and prayer of his. Because of God’s love towards David, he thanks him and makes vows to him.
Application: Just like David, I have the privilege and right to put my trust in the Lord. Even when everything seems like it's going against me, I shall put my trust in the Lord. I must believe that God heard and hears every cry of my heart. He knows my heart and my desires. This should drive me to pray more and more; knowing God’s love towards me and knowing that he has a record of my prayer life in his book. When it gets difficult, I need to open up my heart before the Lord. He already knows everything, but he wants me to depend on him and open up my worries and desires of my heart to him. We then thank God in everything because of his steadfast love. Because of what he did for me on the cross. He deserves my praise. He deserves my time and energy. At its most!
To finish this devotion up, we say a prayer.
Prayer: Thank God
- For what he has done in your life already.
- That he hears your prayers and knows the desires of your heart
Ask God
-To help you to trust him more and more.
-To stay calm in the midst of a storm.
-To help you to keep your eyes on the Lord and come to God with a heart of thanks.
Now, after completing this all, pray that God would give me a person in mind that I would be able to share this with someone. To be able to edify someone else. To encourage someone else. Pray and listen carefully. Someone may be in desperate need or just having a rough day and needs some encouragement. Go out there and be overcomers!
